really?....

Just wondering why the person with the least amount of dirty clothes is the one that gets stuck doing laundry?

YIPPEEE....new camera!

It arrived sooner than expected!! Our "new" Canon 10D was waiting for Andy when he came home today :) It's only a little bit higher grade than our Rebel 300D...but we're taking baby-steps. So far, I love it.....we're only able to use the telephoto lens until we get a new zoom lens, but I already notice a difference. I just need to book a few more sessions, then I can get the 50mm f/1.4 portrait lens that I want so badly!!

So here are some of the shots that Andy took with the new camera today:

Good-bye old friend

So I sold the ol' camera to my sister-in-law yesterday.....and I actually got a little teary-eyed. We had it for over 5 years and in those five years, it has captured over 10 thousand photos for us. Through it's lens, it has seen our first home, our first pets, our wedding, our first born--and second, and every step in between. We loved that camera and know it has found a good home.

I suppose, if we had our new camera {which arrives Wed}, I might not have be so sentimental...but for now I'm wondering what I'm going to do in the 3 days without a camera?!

Here are some of it's last clicks with us:

Ready....Set.....GO!

I finally did it!

Thanks to Karen and Andy asking me to photograph their reception, I have decided to give this photography thing a whirl. I've always loved photography, but I guess I never really had the energy to take it much further than just pictures of the kids.

There was something that "clicked" while shooting the newlyweds at the park......could have been the sunset.....or that beer I drank to calm my nerves.....but whatever it was, it sparked this creative fire that I haven't had in a long time! The last four days have been a non-stop mission to get a website up and running...which involved digging through old photos, figuring out exactly what I can offer and for how much, finding some good music, and writing the dreaded "about me" section--which I still have not done.

And since I'm putting up a website.....might as well blog about it!

So, if anyone is looking for a photographer:
